My friend Joy, who lives in greater Seattle, is keen to get some
hands-on experience of strawbale building this summer. Can anyone help
me point her to a project that she can be part of?
Thanks
Mark

Here's something that I recently go in my mailbox:
Attention to everyone interested in Straw Bale Construction:
We are pleased to refer to you to a straw bale work party in the first weekend in August over in Winthrop, Washington. It is presented by Kelly Lerner, and you are encouraged to contact her if you are interested in attending. This will be a straw bale wall raising (not a full workshop, but good hands-on experience) at a home in Winthrop.
While we are sorry we could not follow through with our own workshop (previously announced and then cancelled), this work party should contain several key elements worth exploring.
Kelly Lerner is a friend and colleage in Spokane who has worked on straw bale projects in Mongolia, China, and California as well as Washington state. She recently wrote a book on green remodeling and has similar design sensibilities to ours.
We wish you a happy learning experience there if you attend, and we will post this information on our website for those not included in this broadcast announcement.
