>>Wasn't that the nature of the job (which also included a legal component
far beyond the scope of a simple post to an email list)? There's no denying
that some people d on't read carefully, don't have common sense, are just
plain dense, or something else. That group might be considered the lowest
common denominator... but I wouldn't consider them the majority, personally.
Not by a long stretch.
Lowest common denominator you say
? Well eugenics aside It might be
important to recognise that this list is partly devoted to the idea that
straw bale buildings are what we should be building because they are
superior to any other kind of energy efficient building technique but only
really smart* people can do this well after a long learning process? But
still a pretty smart group of course ? Everyone here has common sense
very
UN dense? OK I get the point
maybe its just me
That is dense
?
*Smart enough to not forget to cancel the emusic thing in 13.75 days time
?
OK.
Perhaps you are right though and the list has nothing to learn about
anything else. The assumption being is that anyone on this list would jump
at 50 free music downloads if they were told it would help in South Africa
mmmm
have to think about this one a bit more I think
sounds like a smart
thing to do though

just a pawn in their game
youi know its getting tricky to find 50 musical
items these days I couldnt live without or dont already have but I have
recenly discovered a few young persons I quite like listening to I wonder
what the dominant musical form for this list would be? (North American folk
based country would be a logical guess but maybe not, Trance?Techno? Doom?
John Denver ? Sibelius?

People

I s this another Huck Finn quote?

I would not for however EXPECT anyone to be aware of what I know as a form
of respect f or them as a human being, I would far rather be the butt of
their contempt but be consoled in knowing that I have saved one person from
paying for something because their short term memory loss made them forget
to cancel the deal

thanks
So, if somebody with short-term memory l oss signs up, do you think they'll
remember having read your email?
possibly not
but perhaps they will be warned by my note
to not sign up in
the first place unless they have a back up reminder set for the future
or
tell somone to remind them that has a memory
Or was your intention t o warn them against signing up?
just the facts
The idea of getting something for nothing is always
appealing but the idea of someone giving $8.00 (or even part of it) to a
worthy cause because you did
Is well almost too good to be true
but as long
as you cancel in time
it might be true
Perhaps we could ask Dion to put a
daily note onthis list reminding everyone to cancel the emusic thing
sooner
or later it will be the day you need to remember

my little missive was largely for those that might find the idea of having
to remember to cancel something to get something for nothing a bit
bothersome
and something likely to be forgotten

intelligence isnt knowledge, information is what intelligence if you like is
brought to bear upon in forming an idea
Lack of information makes any amount
of "intelligence" a strolling zebra

I knew you would

A lot of its readers are of an age where they forget to cancel.
