I left responding to you as a singularity until the digest came out today
as I was hoping it was off list ……But oh noooooooooo……… 8)

Doesn't mean we're on a list full of dummies, though.

As MP would say "I didnt say that" I do now wonder why it was I did feel the
need to make it clear to a load of strangers that they should be careful
about remembering to cancel in under 14 days or else they are on the hook …

To me, your warning - though given in good spirit - was sort of like
pointing out t hat if a person wants fresh air to come in through the
window, they have to open it - and w ill have to shut it again later if they
don't want rain to come in. To me, it seemed just that obvious.

fair enough, to me it did also but I am a trifle jaded and usually dont
believe much I am told these days …and possibly felt the note would be seen
as well intended on my part…

(And if it wasn't obvious to a given individual, they would have been
confronted with the Terms and Conditions document on the service's website,
would have had to fill in the forms, and would have been required to give
their credit card number before t hey could download anything. If they
didn't figure out the system by that time, I don't think that any warning I
might have included would have worked, either.)

you are right of course it would have been in the terms and conditions but
if we are to get REALLY picky I dont think the word FREE is used on the
emusic site? I havn't checked it but they usually dont use words like
"free"

Counterpoint here is that my last posting was a FINALE. Check it out, its in
the subject line…
You see Mark you can say something that you assume will be understood by
others for what it is (was) (My final posting) and as you say here we are
again… But "petty" and "insulting" have certainly made me realise that we
all have to be very very careful how we understand what we read and
conclude what is meant. ?

I used to like that expression (common sense) but dont use it anymore as
someone pointed out that an alternative to common sense was education or was
that science? It makes me think now…

I said it. Perhaps I was thinking that perhaps the other aspects of my
posting might have been interesting to some ? Longwinded and ponderous to
others no doubt…Obviously to you it was superfluous…?

My only point in the second posting gently said I felt was that my
presumption as to what the list should know about regarding the emusic offer
was possibly out of order on my part and that the list members are capable
of deciding for themselves

My main reason for posting was I repeat to emphasize not the "free" ness of
the offer but the probable requirements that would make the items "free".
But I do now see that I was presuming too much or is that too little? I
cling to the idea however that there will now be messages on fridge doors
throughout the world reminding people to cancel the emusic thing after they
sign up and download 50 units though…O r I suppose notes in e calendars…

it does seem irregular to mention your motivation as you surely used some
of your time in the service of the needy and the intention here is to get
donations to those that need it Its a good thing all round…After all …Im
still interested in what kind of music they have …Anyone here signed up yet
and had a look?
