Lime plaster absorbs CO2 from the air and in doing so reverts back to
its' original limestone form. This process takes quite some time to do,
I gather, and it just occurred to me that covering the lime plaster with
alis will probably slow the CO2 absorption down. This probably will not
affect anything in the short or long term, all else being equal, which
is a long-winded way to say I have no idea if it matters. But it is a
situation to be mindful of.

Cheers,

Chris Green.
