I only installed it a few times. when it is heated
with a torch, it only needs to be heated until it
starts to melt. A begginer will over heat it and the
rubber will get thin. when the torchdown just starts
to melt, the torch should be moved on to the new area,
the area that was starting to melt will continue to
melt without the heat from the torch.
If you are a quality control person, take a look at
the torched area and compare it to an untorched piece
of material and make sure it is not too thin. You can
see the edge thickness at the lap. If it is too thin,
I think there is rubber "welding rods" which allow
rubber to be added back. It is likely over-kill unless
it is really thin.
