[Strawbale] Heating and Cooling (Used to be PEX tubing in floors)(long message)

I would like to understand how to move towards
selfsufficiency. The wheel has been invented, as well
as the SB structure. To those without SB structures
living in drift wood hogons or what ever, the
technology of collecting thousands and thousands of
individual pieces if straw to make into a house would
be an incredable feat, perhaps enough to be happy with
and then go about other things in life.
then there are builders and inventors. what if
refrigeration has a place in living efficiently?
Perhaps it does not; if that is the case, I would like
it made clear so that none of us waste our time on
this subject, unless there is another reason to pursue
it. Either way, anyone should give their opinion. I am
exploring, with this list, the possibility of
transfering refrigeration technology to a structure
for the comfort of the occupants, but it might be used
as a refrigerator, or hydroponic chiller, or? If this
is not the right list for this, or if this is off
topic,I will stop. perhaps another list could be
created for this topic. I think what you said, John,
is part of the input that makes up opinions and shows
a respect for nature through "reduce, reuse, recycle"
which is part of responcible living. When I lived in
Puerto Rico for a few years, I got a taste of humid
heat that sent me packing for cooler climates, and I
learned what I would like in order to be comfortable.
It doesn't seem to me that you wanted the conversation
to stop, you were just adding your opinion. That is
part of what this list for, and others should give
their opinion too.
I think that heating and cooling systems should be
part of the list. Perhaps a map or other description
could be createded that describes an efficiency and
recommendations of heating and cooling systems,
including if they are even needed at all, or how well
very small systems might work.
superior insulation and air tight constuction I would
hope would mostly replace heating and cooling systems.
I would like to know if they can totally replace them
and under what cercumstances this would be the case. I
recently posted a description of a heat sink that
might be able to replace the refrigeration part of
A/C. I am wondering how large of and insulated water
tank would be needed to store hot and cold water that
could be used for heating and cooling a SB structure
to increase the comfort and reduce the cost and energy
use (compared with other systems). If it works, it
might be able to be run with PV powered pumps and be
totally off grid, fairly low cost, and, correct me if
this is incorrect, very low energy consuming and very
low polluting.

Cheeers,
Shody
