yes you are right, I am wrong, mock tudor is not faux anything is it? mock
tudor IS mock tudor
No one could possibly mistake mock tudor for a building
constructed in Tudor England but this faux cordwood I think was created to
lead the eye to believe that what one was looking at was indeed more than a
"veneer " and was in fact the genuine article which is of course cordwood or
was it ? perhaps it wasnt
? we shall obviously never know as who would
admit to such intended deception or worse to such skill in decoration?

of course not being an expert in American revival architecture I am guessing
the Tudor you describe is a half timbered sort of thing? Whereas mock tudor
could not be mistaken for a building from the Tudor reign in England
but
faux cordwood could to the untrained eye be mistaken for the real thing I
think
