[Strawbale] Frost Heave-basement/cob

The question is how important is having a heated
basement? Do you want to spend energy heating the
concrete and perhaps wet earth behind and under it or
install substantial basement wall and basement floor
insulation or install basement ceiling insulation and
let the basement freeze, or install less insulation so
the basement has a little heat.
