[Strawbale] finish coat

I'm just finishing up the stuccoing of the inside of my strawbale 
house. I have left 1/8" on both inside and outside surfaces for finish 
coat in the spring. My initial plan was to put up a color coat. I have 
been reading about limewash also as a coloring devise. From what I 
read, limewash isn't going to fill a quarter inch, but has good 
qualities for filling any capillary cracks. It also needs to be treated 
regularly. A quick lime or putty will get me the 1/8", but may not be 
as good a cap for any minor capillary cracking. Any thoughts or good 
resources to read. Jeff
