[Strawbale] Plaster mixes - now glass fibers?

Sometimes I add chopped straw or glass fibers. The chopped straw
works okay to prevent cracking, and the glass fibers work very well.
The glass fibers also make it more difficult to take the stuff apart,
later.

There you have it.

Speireag: My curiosity is piqued now. Please elaborate on the "glass
fibers". Where do you get them, how small are they? Do they blow in the wind,
getting in eyes, etc.? Is it like fiberglass insulation? Would plastic fibers
from rope do the same thing? We'll be plastering next year, if all goes
well.
