I could be wrong, I would be surprised if a 2x2 welded
wire mesh could not be found for sale a local building
material store (specializing in concrete and masonry
supplies) relatively close to any building site,
probably world wide. If not 2x2, then 4x4 should be
easily found and if so, would 2 2 diagnally off-set
layers be equal to 2x2 ww?
If not, how about some alternatives like narrow gage
re-bar, I guess installation would be rather labor
intensive, but if the job is not too big it might be
worth it, or how about normal plywood sheer panels or
those heavy duty steel rods that are installed
diagonally?
If the SBs are being proposed to hold the roof down
with their weight with the ww mess, then all thread
the top plate to the foundation if ww mess isn't used,
correct? I am not sure what would be less expensive.
Cheers,
Shody
