Kathy;

Have you checked a local farm supply to see what they have ?
They often have stuff that is better quality and better suited to a
particular building task (even though it may not be sold as such) and sell
it a price that is several magnitudes less costly than the equivalent
"product" that is sold at building supply outlets.

Or if you are in a more urban area, a steel supply house (ie a place where
contractors go to get their structural steel, rolls of reinforcing mesh,
rebar, bar stock, etc.) would be the place to go.

Or have you considered not using steel at all and using a plastic mesh
like one of the Tenax CintoFlex products ? The contractors' desk at any
building supply or a farm supply will be able to order it for you. A 10
ft wide x 330 foot long roll would cost about $300.

That being said, I hope that whoever designed your building and specified
the mesh also provided explicit instructions on how the mesh should be
installed and how to properly embed the mesh in the plaster.

Otherwise, it would just be money & effort spent for nought.

(You'd be surprised how many people do just that.)
