[Strawbale] Hemp vs welded wire

Kathy,

I realize you've already ordered your welded wire, but did you consider hemp
netting?  If you search the archives here or on the Yahoo bale list, I'm
sure a reference will come up.  Royce Hays used hemp in his engineered post
and beam California home and I believe it was specified for shear.  I think
the nailing schedule was the same as that called out for welded wire in CA
seismic zones, but there is also other shear in Royce's building (again,
search, and you'll find pictures of the shear - external diagonals).
