Hi Kathy,
A tromb (sp) wall has solar energy input often every
24 hrs. I realize you will be using a solar input in
the system your are proposing too, but thermal storage
(TS) and insulation are too different things, as are
the sub-floor and finish floor. If a wood floor is
built strongly, it can be finished in tile or
concrete, if you choose, to prevent scratching.
The system you are proposing might be better for your
needs because it has TS, however, it may not too,
because it may not have enough TS to last through
storms in your area. I have stopped liking concrete as
TS for reasons already mentioned; 2x as much CO2 by
weight as concrete (?) and high embodied energy when
water and dry earth could be used.
