[Strawbale] welcome Britt

Hey all,
I'm new to the list, single mom living in NYC and planning on  buying a
little land upstate and putting up either a straw bale home or a  cob. Anyone
in upstate NY doing this? WOuld very much like to connect with  others...

Hi Britt, and welcome to the list.  I used to live in upstate  NY.  I don't 
know of any SB or cob houses there, but it's been awhile since  I've been 
there. If you DO build one there, just make sure your roof overhang is  big enough 
to protect the walls from sideways precipitation.  I wish you  the best with 
your endeavors!
