Hi Britt,

A small group of us interested in straw bale building from the Berkshires just
took a trip out to the Oneonta area of NY to visit with builder Clark Sanders
who has been building straw bale since the 80's. 

We were all impressed with his work and this is a hard group to impress,
Building Inspector, Architect, Energy Star/LEED-H Green Building Rater,
Conservation Commission Director.


Also, you might want to consider visiting the Ecovillage at Ithaca. They have
at least one straw bale building.

So there is straw bale building going on in upstate, you just need to poke
around a little.

Hey all,
I'm new to the list, single mom living in NYC and planning on buying a
little land upstate and putting up either a straw bale home or a cob. Anyone
in upstate NY doing this? WOuld very much like to connect with others...
