Hokay, hokay, I was only addressing the issue of volume.
For lime I would think that 1 to 3 would be more than fine if used as
a powder out of the bag. However, if it is a putty then it could
creep up to 1 to 4 depending upon the lime being used. I've found
significant differences in bagged lime over the years when it comes
to quality. Some are richer than others. So in other words 1 to 2
with a very poor quality lime might be good and yet 1 to 4 could be
good with an excellent putty.
However, for the finish coats, a 1 to 2 ratio with a good quality
lime could be preferable in that it will be thinner.
