Thank You to all who have imparted your hard earned, I'm sure,
knowledge on lime.
At the risk of seeming greedy for more information I have another
question in the same
thread that will help us I and I am sure others who are adventurous
enough to be using
lime plaster.
The issue of lime quality was raised and I am asking for options,
tips, caveats or ideas on
the different types of S Type Lime. I have found in researching lime
that there is
Type S and SA (air entrapped) lime. There is also lime for "motor or
plaster"
(i.e. Rockwell Miracle Motra-lok) or lime for final coat (i.e.
Rockwell Motor-Cote) or for
all with air (i.e. Rockwell Tiger Airo and Jiffy-Soak).
Whew, any insight on what is the better one to use for strawbale????
From the 2000 TLS
issue on Lime Plaster it is clear that the SA type is not a good
choice but is there a preference
as to the mortar vs finish lime for the interior walls. Is it best to
use mortar type for the scratch
and brown coat and then finish type for the final coat.
Thanks again,
Debbie
