Hi Erica et al,

No, actually the Strawbale Building Registry
(http://sbregistry.greenbuilder.com) is an attempt to track how many
SB buildings there are, where they are, how many times they've
changed hands, how they were built, any problems, where they got
their mortgage and insurance, etc... in order to further our
knowledge of SB performance and gain better acceptance by mortgagers
and insurers, among others.

While it's fine to note there that a home is for sale, that's not its
primary purpose nor the best place to go looking for a home to buy.

The Last Straw is putting up a strawbale-for-sale classified ad
space. It's a sensible thing to do - those who are aware of
strawbale are likely to find TLS and would be more prone to look
there for homes to buy. I suspect that they already get a fair number
of inquiries, and are putting the classifieds ads up in response -
just like they put the Human Resource Lists up so that they didn't
have to spend as much time answering the eternal question "who can I
get to build this for me"?

<shameless self-promotion>
At Greenbuilder.com we did the same with both our Green Building
Professionals Directory (since 1996) and our Green Real Estate
classifieds (since 1997) - we got tired of answering the same
questions all the time, and realized that it would be easier on
everyone to make them into online services. Ours cover a wider
variety of building methods than those at TLS, for the simple reason
that green building is more broadly defined than straw bale building.
</shameless self-promotion>
