     Indefinitely, I'd say.  I've seen bottles floating in a pond  
last for years, and these won't be exposed to ultraviolet.

     You wouldn't have a big mess.  First, they're almost certain to  
fail one at a time.  Second, they're not going to fail  
catastrophically; even a pinhole leak will leak very slowly, and  
evaporate as it does.  The only way you'll know that they failed is  
when you inspect one and find it less than full.
