Does earth-berming help insulate a house? If earth has
a thermal storage capacity between that of water and
air and it is subjected to substantial cooling from
weather, it seems that it would be more cooling to the
house than conventional building techniques. Are there
any thoughts from others on this topic? I am aware of
the popular idea of building underground, partly for
insulation or other thermal reasons, but none of these
seem like they would hold up to some sort of thermal
analysis.
