Where we live there is a Habitat for Humanity re-use store that I am told
sells old electric water tanks, often with the heating element removed, so
all you need to do is buy a couple of plugs at a hardware store to put in
the holes.
Basically any re-use store if you have one out your way.
cheers

Yes, Lowes/Home Depot etc., just ask for damaged tanks. You might look up
general contractors in your area and ask them as well. Go for the electric
ones (cheaper).

Standard tanks, however, are relatively robust (including heat loss) and
much cheaper; as a matter of fact, you might be able to pick up a damaged
one
from a nearby retail outlet that sells tanks for fairly cheap.

Mark: Well, I love that idea, thanks! ...but WHERE OH, WHERE would we
find
such a thing? The local Lowes or Home Depot?? All I have ever seen there
are electric or gas hot water heater tanks. The tank we need I don't
believe
has to be pressurized, but that's not written in stone. Anyone else have
any
ideas?
